Columbus Soccer Club volunteers are required to complete the following risk management training before the season begins. This includes a background check, SafeSport, and concussion training, all completed in Player's Health. Returning coaches and other volunteers (i.e. Team Managers) will use their existing Player's Health login to complete all risk management requirements. These items will sync and update automatically with the state office. All new coaches and other volunteers will receive an invitation to Player's Health after you complete your coach or volunteer registration in Sports Connect.
NSSA Background Check
Background checks are good for up to two years. Directions, FAQ’s and the NSSA risk management policy can all be found on the NSSA background check website. These are updated and processed using Player's Health.
SafeSport Training – Click here for details
The SafeSport training is required once per soccer season and is also handled through your Player's Health account. If you are a returning coach who has previously completed the SafeSport Training you will complete the refresher training. Once completed, the information will sync automatically with the Nebraska State Soccer Association.
Heads Up Concussion Training
This training is completed in Player's Health and will assist you to understand a concussion and the potential consequences of this injury, as well as help to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion and how to respond. Concussions are a type of traumatic brain injury and should be taken seriously. The following links provide helpful reminders for coaches:

After all of your requirements are complete, we will approve your team for play. You will be issued a state certified roster and player passes/digital passes. Both the roster and passes are required at check-in at all games.
